Terms of service

Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. Who we are

Dot To Dot is operated by DOT TO DOT SOLUTIONS PTY LTD, trading as Dot To Dot, in South Africa.

Customer service contact details:

These Terms apply to the Dot To Dot website, the complimentary personalised preview service, and any paid wedding website service ordered through Shopify. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of these Terms.

2. The service

Dot To Dot provides a done-for-you wedding website service for South African couples. Depending on the route selected, the service can include:

  • A guided questionnaire and private photograph uploads.
  • A personalised wedding website prepared from the information and photographs approved by the customer.
  • A private preview before public launch.
  • One consolidated set of customer content changes after payment.
  • A guest-facing online RSVP form after launch.
  • A private RSVP dashboard and CSV export after launch.
  • Twelve months of hosting after the website has passed final live verification.

The standard service is based on Dot To Dot's supported design system. It is not an unlimited bespoke design engagement. Custom domains, new design concepts, extra revision rounds, major changes of direction, unsupported features and other additions may be quoted separately.

3. Complimentary personalised preview

Where the complimentary preview option is available:

  • No card or Shopify order is required to start.
  • A preview is produced only after the questionnaire and photographs pass Dot To Dot's completeness, relevance, safety and buildability checks.
  • Dot To Dot may request corrections, decline abusive or unsuitable submissions, limit the number of complimentary previews, or pause new previews when capacity is full.
  • The complimentary preview is private, revocable, time-limited, marked as a preview and not intended to be shared with wedding guests.
  • It cannot accept real guest RSVPs, provide usable RSVP-dashboard or CSV access, or be released as a public wedding website.
  • The complimentary preview does not include customer revisions.

Payment of the displayed R999 once-off price unlocks the paid review and launch route for that preview, subject to these Terms.

4. Information and photographs supplied by you

You must provide accurate, lawful and wedding-relevant information. You are responsible for checking names, dates, times, venue details, maps, guest instructions, RSVP settings, menu choices, accommodation details and all other facts before approval.

You confirm that:

  • You have permission to provide and use every photograph, logo, name, message and other item you submit.
  • Your material does not infringe another person's copyright, privacy or other rights.
  • You have the authority of the couple and the final decision-maker to approve the website.
  • You will not submit unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, misleading or abusive material.

You keep ownership of your original material. You give Dot To Dot a limited licence to store, process, edit, resize and display it only as reasonably needed to provide, support and secure the service. Dot To Dot will not use a couple's private photographs in public marketing without separate permission.

5. Questionnaire, corrections and frozen preview brief

The questionnaire must be completed with enough real information and suitable photographs to build the promised website. If information is missing, contradictory or unsuitable, we may return the same questionnaire with specific corrections.

Once a submission passes the buildability check, Dot To Dot may freeze a copy of the approved answers and photographs as the source for the preview. Replacing most of that content, changing the design direction, changing the wedding or adding unsupported features later is not part of the complimentary preview or the one included revision and may require a separate quote.

6. Price and payment

  • The standard paid service is R999 once off unless a valid discount is shown at checkout.
  • Prices and payments are in South African rand (ZAR).
  • Any applicable tax or fee payable by the customer will be included in or disclosed with the total before the order is placed.
  • Payment is made through Shopify checkout and processed by PayFast or another payment method shown at checkout.
  • Dot To Dot does not store full payment-card details.
  • This is a digital service. No physical shipping charge should apply.

The order is accepted when Shopify confirms successful payment. A payment-return page, screenshot or customer message is not proof of payment. Dot To Dot may wait for verified payment status before unlocking paid work.

7. Delivery

Delivery is electronic. Questionnaire, preview, approval, live-site and RSVP-dashboard links are sent to the email address supplied by the customer.

The first preview is normally prepared within five to seven business days after Dot To Dot accepts the completed questionnaire and required photographs as buildable. The timing does not begin when an incomplete questionnaire is first opened. If an unusual project needs longer, Dot To Dot will agree a revised date with the customer. Unless otherwise agreed, the service will be rendered within the period required by applicable law.

The customer is responsible for supplying corrections and approvals promptly. Customer delays pause delivery estimates.

8. Review and included changes

Payment includes one consolidated set of reasonable content corrections within the supported website structure. The customer should submit all requested changes together.

The included revision does not cover a new design concept, a different wedding, replacement of most approved information or photographs, new custom functionality, a custom domain, or repeated change rounds. Dot To Dot will quote separately before doing additional paid work.

Fixing a Dot To Dot error, broken functionality or a mismatch between the approved brief and the rendered website does not consume the customer's included revision.

9. Approval and launch

Customer approval confirms that the customer has checked the website's facts and content. Customer approval does not by itself publish the website.

Dot To Dot performs a final internal approval and live verification. Only a paid, internally approved website may be released publicly, accept real guest RSVPs or receive active RSVP-dashboard and CSV access.

The customer must not attempt to bypass preview restrictions, access controls, payment controls or launch approval.

10. Hosting, domain and availability

The standard price includes twelve months of hosting beginning when the website passes final live verification. The standard address is a Dot To Dot-provided hosted address. A custom domain is an optional paid addition unless expressly included in writing.

Before the included period ends, Dot To Dot will explain any available renewal, archive or export options. If no renewal is agreed, the website and active RSVP service may be disabled after reasonable notice and any legally required retention period.

Dot To Dot uses third-party services including Shopify, PayFast, Supabase, Vercel, email providers and internet infrastructure. We will use reasonable care to provide a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability of third-party networks. This does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. RSVP information and guest privacy

The customer decides which guest information is requested through the RSVP form and must use the resulting information only for legitimate wedding planning and guest communication.

The customer must keep private dashboard links secure and tell Dot To Dot promptly if access may have been exposed. Dot To Dot may revoke and replace an access link to protect guest information.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. The customer must not ask guests for unnecessary or unlawful sensitive information.

12. Cancellations and refunds

The separate Refund Policy explains cancellation stages, refund eligibility, the method of refund and how to request one. It forms part of these Terms.

At the payment step, the customer must actively confirm that they have read and accepted these Terms and the Refund Policy. Where the customer asks Dot To Dot to start paid personalised work within seven days of payment, that request will be recorded. Any statutory cooling-off right, exclusion or remedy applies as the law requires and cannot be removed by these Terms.

13. Quality and statutory rights

Dot To Dot will perform the service with reasonable care, in accordance with the approved brief and to the quality people are generally entitled to expect from this type of service.

If the service does not meet the agreed description or applicable legal standard, contact us promptly. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we will correct the problem, complete the service, or provide an appropriate full or partial refund. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

14. Acceptable use

You may not use the store, questionnaire, preview, wedding website, RSVP service or dashboard to:

  • Break the law or another person's rights.
  • Upload malware or attempt unauthorised access.
  • Send spam or collect guest information for unrelated marketing.
  • Misrepresent a relationship, wedding, payment or approval.
  • Copy, resell, reverse engineer or commercially exploit Dot To Dot's templates, software or internal systems.

Dot To Dot may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect customers, guests, systems or legal obligations, and will explain the reason where lawful and practical.

15. Intellectual property

Dot To Dot retains ownership of its reusable templates, software, automation, design system, code, processes, brand and pre-existing materials. The paid service gives the customer a personal, non-transferable right to use the delivered hosted wedding website during the agreed hosting period. Source code and reusable platform components are not sold or transferred unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

16. Liability

Each party remains responsible for loss caused by its breach, negligence or unlawful conduct. To the extent permitted by law, Dot To Dot is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, guest decisions, venue changes, inaccurate customer-supplied facts, unauthorised sharing of customer access links, or a third-party outage outside Dot To Dot's reasonable control.

Nothing in this section limits liability or consumer rights where South African law does not permit that limitation.

17. Complaints and disputes

Please send a complaint to info@dottodot.co.za with the order number, project name and a clear description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within two business days and provide a substantive response within ten business days.

Dot To Dot does not currently state that it subscribes to a private alternative dispute-resolution code. If we cannot resolve a consumer complaint directly, the customer may use any remedy available through the National Consumer Commission, the appropriate consumer tribunal, a court or another body with jurisdiction.

18. Electronic records

Before placing an order, the customer can review the product, total price and these Terms, correct cart mistakes or leave the checkout. Shopify provides an electronic order confirmation. Customers should save the confirmation, these Terms and the Refund Policy for their records. A copy can be requested from info@dottodot.co.za.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for future transactions. The version accepted at the time of an order continues to govern that order unless a change is required by law or the parties agree otherwise. The last-updated date will be changed when a new version is published.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by South African law. South African consumer protections apply where applicable, irrespective of any provision that would otherwise reduce those protections.
